Tragedy as cyclist in his 70s killed after crash with lorry

A cyclist in his 70s has tragically died after being struck by a lorry.

The smash happened on the A6 south of Hackthorpe, near Penrith[1], at around 11.40am on Wednesday (January 28).

Cumbria[2] Police said emergency services, including an air ambulance, attended however the cyclist, who was a local man, died at the scene. Advertisement Advertisement

Officers are investigating and the force has appealed to anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage to come forward.
