Welcome Break takeover of Cornwall Services at Victoria

It is described as a "busy gateway for residents, commuters and millions of visitors" travelling in and out of Cornwall each year. In a statement confirming the purchase, the company said: "Welcome Break are pleased to announce the acquisition of Cornwall[1] Services at the Victoria Interchange on the A30 in Cornwall near Bodwin. "We are delighted to add what is a very popular service area to our existing Motorway Network in the UK.

We look forward to working with the brands that are on site, and will continue to offer road users to opportunity to rest, refuel and continue on their journey as they travel in and out of Cornwall." Cornwall Services, which opened in 2014, sits at the Victoria Interchange near Roche and has grown into one of the county's most significant roadside stops. It was developed as a major trunk-road service area serving both Cornwall's tourism economy and local residents travelling the A30.

The site also features a Shell forecourt, electric vehicle charging points, dedicated HGV and coach parking, and a 71-bed Holiday Inn Express. Visitor numbers have continued to grow. Known for its strategic position and breadth of facilities, Cornwall Services has become a central meeting place for locals and a must-stop rest point for holidaymakers heading deeper into the county.

Welcome Break's acquisition brings the busy service area into one of the UK's largest motorway services networks.

What changes the takeover will result in, if any, to bring the facilities under the Welcome Break format remain to be seen.
