3 taken to hospital with serious injuries after head-on collision in Leicestershire

Three people were taken to hospital[1] with serious injuries following a head-on collision in Leicestershire[2].
A red Peugeot Partner van and a black Hyundai i20[3] collided on the A426 Rugby Road near Cotesbach, a village in the Harborough district, at 7.50pm on Saturday (February 7).
Leicestershire Police[4] said the Peugeot was travelling from the direction of the A5 towards Lutterworth, and the Hyundai in the opposite direction. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS)[5] described the incident as a head-on collision.
Firefighters extricated three people from the vehicles. East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS)[6] attended and transported all three persons to hospital.
Police said that the two male drivers[7] of the cars sustained serious injuries. They added that the injuries suffered by the female passenger inside the Hyundai have been described as life-threatening.
