A500 crash victim named as ‘kind and loyal’ Stoke-on-Trent City Council worker

The heartbroken relatives of a man killed in a crash on the A500 have paid tribute to 'the gentle centre of our family'. Stoke-on-Trent City Council worker Malachy Dozie Mbah died at the scene of the collision[1] between a grey Jaguar he was driving and a white MAN lorry.
The 31-year-old was today described as a 'deeply loved son, brother and friend' following his Valentine's Day death on the D-road[2] in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Advertisement

In a statement, his loved ones said: "Malachy was the gentle centre of our family; a man of integrity, kindness and unwavering generosity.
Loyal and dependable, he moved through life with quiet strength and honour, lifting others effortlessly and leaving warmth wherever he went.
"A dedicated professional, he was well-regarded and respected by his colleagues at Stoke-on-Trent City Council.[3] Everyone who knew him speaks of the same light and steady goodness."
They added: "His loss has left an immeasurable void in our lives, but we remain thankful for the love he gave so freely and the joy of having shared life with him." Advertisement Advertisement

Police and paramedics had been sent to the crash close to junction 16 for the M6 at 4.35am on February 14. The A500 remained shut until around 2.30pm while investigation work was carried out
An appeal for witnesses is continuing.
A Staffordshire Police[4] spokesman said: "An investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage should contact us."
Witnesses should contact police on 101, quoting incident 124 of February 14.
