Baby girl seriously injured in hit and run crash on M6 slip road

Police are trying to trace the driver and passenger of a White Ford Transit van which hit a lorry and two cars on the Junction 29 slip road The M6 slip road at Junction 29 was closed for seven hours after a baby was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash. Lancashire Police were called to a crash involving four vehicles on the northbound M6 slip road at Bamber Bridge.
A White Ford Transit van hit three stationary vehicles on the slip road[1] a lorry and two cars. Police say the baby, a passenger in one of the cars, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where she remains at this time. Blog Preston has been told by police the baby girl is just over a month old. The driver and passenger of the Ford Transit van made off from the scene of the crash which took place at 4.25pm on Friday 13 February. Police believe they both have serious injuries from the crash. No description of the two men is currently available - but police say they will have visible injuries due to the force of the crash. Sergeant Ben Elliott of the road policing unit said: "A baby has been left seriously injured following this collision and our thoughts remain with her and her loved ones at this time. "Extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate two men, the driver and passenger of the White Ford Transit van, and I can reassure you were are doing everything possible to find them. "We are particularly concerned for them as we believe they sustained serious injuries in the collision, and strongly encourage them to come forward to us. "I am appealing directly to you, the public, for your assistance. If you have dashcam or CCTV footage of the collision, please do get in touch with us. "We are also aware that there may be people who witnessed the collision that we haven't yet spoken to. If this is you, or if you know someone who was travelling on that road at the time, please let us know."
