Cheshire and Wrexham A534 reportedly closed after accident

The traffic monitoring website Inrix is reporting that the A534 in Farndon, close to the B5130 junction, is closed in both directions. And Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) has confirmed that three of its engines - two from Chester and one from Malpas - have attended the scene from around 6am on Saturday. The spokesman said there were three casualties overall with two taken to hospital.

They confirmed the road was closed. "Crews were called to a road traffic collision in Barton Road," they said. "This involved a van that had left the highway and overturned onto a field.

"Firefighters used extrication equipment to access around the vehicle and released one casualty into the care of attending paramedics. "Two further casualties were transported to hospital for precautionary checks. "Police officers are also in attendance and the road has been closed while the incident is being dealt with.

"An investigation into the incident is ongoing."
