Council officials have paid tribute to a well-respected colleague killed in a fatal A500 crash. And the local authority has confirmed how Malachy Dozie Mbah was part of a team that worked with some of the city's most vulnerable.
Emergency services had been called to the D-road, close to Junction 16 of the M6, at around 4.35am on Saturday (February 14) to reports of a serious collision between a grey Jaguar and a white MAN lorry.
Malachy, aged, 31, who was the driver of the Jaguar, died at the scene. StokeonTrentLive previously reported[1] how his grieving family had described him as a 'deeply loved son, brother and friend'.
Today Stoke-on-Trent City Council has paid tribute and say his 'humanity' always shone through as he helped vulnerable people in the Potteries. A spokesperson for the local authority said: "Dozie was a member of our Changing Futures team that worked with people in Stoke-on-Trent experiencing multiple disadvantages, often homelessness and substance misuse.

"Dozie's values and humanity always shone through with the people he supported, and the team he worked alongside.
He was a great colleague to all. The city council extends our deepest sympathies to his family at this time."
In a statement, his loved ones said: "Malachy was the gentle centre of our family; a man of integrity, kindness and unwavering generosity. Loyal and dependable, he moved through life with quiet strength and honour, lifting others effortlessly and leaving warmth wherever he went.
"A dedicated professional, he was well-regarded and respected by his colleagues at Stoke-on-Trent City Council.[3] Everyone who knew him speaks of the same light and steady goodness."
They added: "His loss has left an immeasurable void in our lives, but we remain thankful for the love he gave so freely and the joy of having shared life with him."
An appeal for witnesses is continuing.
A Staffordshire Police[4] spokesman said: "An investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage should contact us."
Witnesses should contact police on 101, quoting incident 124 of February 14.
