Further delays on M25 after serious lorry crash in Brentwood

The incident took place on Tuesday on the M25 northbound carriageway between Junction 28 (A12, Brentwood) and Junction 27 (M11 Interchange) and has led to a lane closure and ongoing delays. Essex commuters are experiencing lengthy delays, with traffic affected between Junction 29 (A127) and Junction 28. M25 anticlockwise J28 (A12) to J27 (M11) - one lane remains closed for barrier repairs after a collision on Tuesday (the anticlockwise carriageway was closed overnight - but reopened at 6am).

One lorry reportedly suffered a blow out and left the carriageway, bringing down power cables. Lanes two, three and four remain open, with only the first lane closed for repairs. National Highways is urging motorists to allow extra time for their journeys.

AA Traffic maps are reporting delays up to 41 minutes, but easing.

Average speed of the traffic is around ten mph.

Although congestion has shown some signs of easing, drivers are still being advised to expect slower journeys.
