Live Staffordshire M6 updates after crash

A crash has triggered delays on the Staffordshire M6. The collision happened on the southbound M6 between junction 13 for Stafford South and junction 12 for Gailey. It happened at 12.39pm today.

Traffic monitoring system Inrix states: "There is one lane closed and busy but moving traffic due to an accident on the M6 southbound from junction 13 to junction 12. There is congestion back to junction 14 for Stafford North as well as on the northbound carriageway as onlookers slow to view. The A449 Stafford Road southbound through Penkridge is also heavy as traffic seeks an alternative."

National Highways West Midlands has shared a picture of the collision. A National Highways spokesman said: "One lane is closed due to a collision between a car and a van. It is a non-injury collision and recovery vehicles are en-route.

There is a 40-minute delay and four miles of congestion."
