Live updates as two in hospital after head-on crash near Cambridge

A road leading into Cambridge[1] was closed this morning (February 20) following a head-on crash. The A1307 Babraham Road was closed westbound whilst the eastbound remained unaffected. Cambridgeshire Police[2] confirmed that a truck and another vehicle were involved in the crash.

They also said they expected the road to be closed for the rest whole morning. The East of England Ambulance Service have confirmed that two people have been taken to hospital "for further assessment and care". The nature of their injuries is currently unknown.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson added: "Please be aware that the A1307 Westbound is blocked from Babraham village, towards the research park and will be for sometime due to an on going incident, the Eastbound carriageway is currently unaffected.

Please look to use alternative routes."

Traffic now appears to be moving normally.
