M6 crash LIVE: Traffic at a standstill after smash between lorry and two cars

A major motorway was brought to a standstill after a crash involving a lorry and two cars. The crash took place on the M6 northbound in Lancashire[1] between junction 32 for the M55 Broughton Interchange and junction 33 for Lancaster South/ Garstang. The incident was reported shortly before 12pm today and all northbound traffic was halted, Lancashire Live[2] reports.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported "long delays" in the area shortly after the incident.

All lanes open and accident cleared

Vehicles from the crash have now been removed from the M6 and all lanes are open. A message from Inrix states: "Road cleared and traffic returned to normal, accident cleared on M6 Northbound from J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange) to J33 A6 Preston Lancaster Road (Lancaster South / Garstang). "Traffic has been released now after being held for around thirty minutes."

Traffic has been released now after being held for around thirty minutes."
