M62 crash between Chain Bar and M621 causes severe delays

The crash took place on the M62 eastbound between the Chain Bar and M621 junctions. In a post on X, National Highways: Yorkshire said: "Three lanes (of four) are closed on the M62 eastbound in West Yorkshire between Junction 26 (M606, Bradford) and Junction 27 (M621, Leeds) due to a collision involving a car and a lorry. "Police and our traffic officers are en-route.

"There's a 36-minute delay and four miles of congestion on approach." West Yorkshire Police confirmed that no one was injured in the crash and that it was 'damage only' to the vehicles. They also confirmed that the road is now fully re-opened.

One traffic alert also reported the crash had caused severe delays and congestion.

The traffic alert reported: "Severe delays due to earlier accident on M62 eastbound from Junction 26 M606 Junction 1 (Chain Bar) to Junction 27 M621 (Gildersome).

Congestion to Junction 25 Clifton Interchange."
