Major Chester route blocked following collision

According to the traffic monitoring service Inrix the A41 Southbound is close following an accident There is queueing traffic due to the crash debris on the road from A51 Tarvin Road (Vicars Cross traffic lights) to A5115 Whitchurch Road (Boughton Heath junction). A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "We're currently dealing with an incident on the A41 Chester Ring Road, involving a HGV which has had shed its load.

"A full closure is currently in place on the southbound carriageway (towards Sainsburys) and two lanes are also closed on the northbound carriageway.

"Motorists are urged to avoid the area."
