Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was left fighting for his life after a crash on the A14[1]. Officers and paramedics were called to the westbound carriageway at Easton, near Huntingdon[2], at around 8:50pm on Monday (February 16).
The crash involved a white Volvo lorry and a white Peugeot Partner Van. Fire crews from Kimbolton and Huntingdon were called to the scene and used specialist equipment to release a casualty who was left in the care of the ambulance service.
A police spokesperson said a 46-year-old man from Coventry, who was driving the van, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The lorry driver, a 62-year-old man from Purfleet, Essex, was not injured and remained at the scene.
The police are now asking for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. You can report any information through the force website by quoting the reference 35/12366/26.
