A man in his 50s has died after a collision on a busy main road. The tragedy unfolded around 10.10am yesterday (February 25) in Swale Way, Kemsley, near Sittingbourne[1].

A red Ford Fusion was heading towards the A249 across Swale Bridge, over Milton Creek, when it crossed onto the opposite carriageway. It was then involved in a crash with a white Mercedes lorry going in the opposite direction.

Police, paramedics, an air ambulance and firefighters were sent to the scene.

The road was closed for around nine hours. It reopened between 7pm and 7.15pm. Police revealed this morning that a man in his 50s was confirmed deceased at the scene.

His next of kin has been informed.
