A man has died in a horror crash on the A500 in the Midlands.
Police were called to the scene in the early hours of the morning following the collision involving a grey Jaguar and a white lorry.
The A500 was shut in both directions following the tragedy.
The northbound stretch reopened at about 9am on Saturday, February 14.
But the A500 southbound remains shut while officers carry out work at the scene, StokeonTrentLive reports.[1]
A Staffordshire[3] Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
"We were called at 4.35am this morning (Saturday, February 14) to reports of a serious collision involving a grey Jaguar and a white MAN lorry on the A500 near to junction 16.
"The driver of the car, a man, sadly died at the scene.
"His family are being supported by specialist officers.
"We are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators.
