Police at 14-vehicle crash on M25 involving cars, vans and lorry

The incident occurred earlier today (Wednesday, February 11) at the Chalfont Viaduct near Slough between Junctions 16 and 17 of the M25. Several emergency vehicles were in attendance, including a fire engine alongside police officers at the scene. Thames Valley Police (TVP) confirmed that there were no injuries recorded in the collision despite the volume of vehicles involved.

Police posted a photograph from the scene. The statement from TVP said: "We attended a 14-vehicle collision on the M25 J16-17 under the Chalfont Viaduct. "The collision included cars, vans and a lorry with vehicles braking and shunting each other.

"The clockwise carriageway was blocked due to the damaged vehicles, and amazingly, there were no serious injuries. "A testament to modern vehicle safety standards. "It was an impressive multi-agency response that allowed us to promptly open two lanes to help ease the congestion, but thank you to those trapped in the traffic[3] for your patience.

"There are often a number of factors involved in this type of incident, such as following too closely and being distracted.

"Remember to keep a good distance between you and the vehicle in front and focus on the road ahead."
