Three children among patients in Royal Stoke after half-term M6 smash

Three children were among the casualties taken to hospital following a smash on the M6. Emergency services had been scrambled to the northbound stretch through North Staffordshire where they found a collision between a truck and two cars.

Now West Midlands Ambulance Service[1] has confirmed four patients - a woman, two girls and a boy - were all taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital[2]. The smash occurred between junctions 14 and 15 just before 5.50pm yesterday (January 16).

As reported by StokeonTrentLive [3]and the crash resulted in two lanes being shut off.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of an RTC involving two cars and a lorry on the northbound M6, between junctions 14 and 15, two ambulances attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered four patients, a woman, two girls and a boy.

All four were treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further assessment."

Staffordshire Police[4] confirmed officers were sent to the scene.
