Traffic has stopped on the M61 northbound due to the incident. Traffic has been stopped on the M61 northbound due to a multi-vehicle crash that resulted in a lorry overturning. Emergency services were told of the incident on the M61 northbound between junction junction 8 for Chorley and junction 9 for Calyton Brook at around 8.40am on Friday (20 February).
There has been a multi-vehicle crash which has resulted in a lorry overturning. The incident happened close to junction 8 and there are around three miles of congestion heading back to junction 6 as a result.
