A228 Frindsbury Hill in Strood closed after accident involving police vehicle and car
A busy road was shut for more than two hours after a crash involving a police vehicle on an emergency call and a car. The A228 Frindsbury Hill in Strood was blocked due to the accident between Bill Street Road and Parsonage Lane.

Images show damage to the driver's side of both cars. A reporter at the scene said officers were turning other motorists away until the route reopened at about 12.15pm.
One witness said he saw a police car travelling down the road at speed before hearing "a big bang" and seeing the vehicle collide with the Peugeot.

Another said a van had "suddenly appeared" in front of the police vehicle, prompting the driver to try to overtake it. The force confirmed it was called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles at around 9.53am today (March 3). They said the police car was travelling responding to an emergency call on blue lights.
A spokesperson added: "Officers attended and one person was taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure."
