Appeal for information following fatal crash on the A86

Officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A86. Around 12.50pm on Saturday, 21 March, 2026, we received a report of a one vehicle collision between Laggan and Kinlochlaggan. Emergency services attend and the driver of a Ford Transit van was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been made aware. Formal identification is still to be carried out. Sergeant Kate Finlayson of the Road Policing Unit said: Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the man who has died.

We continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances. "I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage from around this time on the A86 and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible. "The road was closed for 8 hours.

I would like to thank members of the public for their patience while we carried out our investigation.

"Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1316 of 21 March, 2026."
