Convicted murderer Stephanie Langley’s son appears in court accused of killing teenager by dangerous driving while the boy was riding an e-scooter
The son of a convicted murderer accused of killing a teenager while he was riding his e-scooter has appeared in court. Kieran Byrne-Nicholls died in Heath Road in Coxheath in 2023 after he was hit by a BMW.

Police closed the road for more than 10 hours after the incident, and Cameron Langley-McColm was charged with death by dangerous driving. The 22-year-old is the son of murderer Stephanie Langley, who was jailed for life in May 2024[1], after she fatally stabbed landlord Matthew Bryant outside his pub, Hare and Hounds, in Maidstone, on September 11, 2023.
The single mum-of-two plunged the blade into Mr Bryant's chest and twice into his back during a confrontation just metres from the entrance to the pub. She was jailed for life with a minimum term of 24 years. Langley-McColm, of Coombe Road, Maidstone, appeared before magistrates in Medway yesterday (March 3), accused of causing the death of Kieran by dangerous driving.

When the charge was put to him while he was in the dock, Langley-McColm confirmed he was indicating he would plead guilty to the offence, which is an indictable-only matter and needs to be dealt with in the crown court.
Magistrates heard that 15-year-old Kieran was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after suffering traumatic head and chest injuries.
At the time of his death, tributes were paid to the Cornwallis Academy pupil, who was said to be a "beautiful and talented" young boy. Speaking to KentOnline, Kieran's family detailed their devastating heartbreak[2]. His sister-in-law Rachel said: "On Saturday my beautiful, talented, hilariously sarcastic, clever, highly intelligent and funny brother-in-law passed away in an unfortunate road traffic accident.
"We have had the most horrific 48 hours that no family should ever have to deal with."
Magistrates then sent the case to Maidstone Crown Court to be dealt with and Langley-McColm is expected to appear there for a preliminary hearing on March 30.
He was granted bail until then.
