Crash causing severe delays on major road

A collision is causing severe delays along a busy route heading towards Cardiff on Monday morning as emergency services attend the scene. The collision at Coryton at junction 32 is causing severe delays on the A470 heading south from Pontypridd. Traffic monitoring services including the AA and Inrix are reporting delays are up to half an hour as of shortly after 8am on Monday.
One lane is closed on the A470 between Taff's Well and Coryton due to the incident and emergency services are at the scene. Traffic Wales has warned drivers of "heavy congestion" in the area. Inrix reports: "Queueing traffic and one lane closed due to accident on A470 Northern Avenue southbound from A468 Caerphilly Road (Nantgarw interchange) to the M4 junction 32 (Coryton interchange)."
Elsewhere a broken down HGV is causing delays on the M4 eastbound in Bridgend from junction 53 A473 to junction 34 A4119.
