Delays as car loses wheel in crash with van in Ipswich

Suffolk police were called to the crash on the A137 just after 9.30am on the A137, near the roundabout with the Strand in Ipswich. The crash between a car and a van blocked the road, and the driver of the van moved it off the road. The car involved in the crash was still blocking the road because a wheel fell off in the crash.

Recovery was being organised, with police attending the crash. The crash happened near Wherstead Road[1] in Ipswich, where Cadent Gas has been carrying out extensive work on the route, causing long delays. It is currently closed overnight, between 8pm and 5am, until Saturday.

The diversion in place for this closure will use the A137, A1022, A1156, A1189, A14 and A137.
