Family’s tribute to ‘caring and funny’ Southport van driver killed in horror crash

The family of a 'caring and funny' van driver who was killed in a crash with a HGV and a car transporter have paid a heartfelt tribute to him.
Dean Corbett, 34, from Southport[1], died at the scene of the horror collision on the A15 in North Lincolnshire.
Emergency services were called to the incident between the Broughton interchange and the Hibaldstow turnoff shortly after 11am on Wednesday (March 4). Advertisement Advertisement

It followed reports that a Ford Transit van travelling northbound had been involved in a crash with a Renault T-Series HGV, travelling southbound, as well as with a Volvo car transporter.
Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, Dean, who had been driving the Transit van, died as a result of his injuries.
In a statement issued by Humberside Police, his family said: "Beloved son, brother, uncle and boyfriend.
"Dean always had a smile on his face, had the funniest jokes to make people laugh, and would always have time for anyone no matter where he was in life. Advertisement

"Dean was kind, caring and funny with a big heart.
"His passing has left a massive void in all of us.
"He will be extremely missed."
Officers continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has CCTV or dashcam footage to contact us on 101, quoting log number 129 of March 4, 2026.
