The family of a "gentle and loving" man who tragically died in a crash[1] near Beverley[2] have paid emotional tribute. Andrew Garnett, 52, was sadly killed in the multi-vehicle incident on the A1035 in the Tickton area on Tuesday morning (March 24).

Paying tribute, Mr Garnett's family said: "Andrew was the kindest, most gentle and loving son, dad, brother, uncle and fiance anyone could ever wish for.

Adored and cherished by everyone who knew him, a huge void has forever been left in our hearts."

A number of other drivers were injured in the collision that happened shortly before 7am. A silver Nissan Micra was heading westbound when it was involved in a collision with a blue DAF heavy-goods vehicle travelling the other way.

The HGV is "then believed to have collided with a grey BMW 330e and a grey Volkswagen Polo". Mr Garnett was the driver of the BMW and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the other vehicles were taken to hospital for treatment to "serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening".
