Forensics probe car at services while two parts of M6 remain shut after fatal incident

Forensic experts are examining a car at a services while two stretches of the M6 motorway in Cheshire and Lancashire remain shut following a fatal incident.
Cheshire Police have confirmed the closures of the motorway near Warrington and near Bamber Bridge are linked to the tragic incident earlier this morning (Saturday, March 7) when a pedestrian was 'struck by several cars'.[1]
The person, whose gender or age has not been revealed, was hit by the vehicles between junction 21 and 21A on the northbound side of the motorway. They were sadly pronounced dead on the scene.

This stretch of the motorway is shut off while investigation work is carried out.
Police have confirmed the closure on the northbound side of the motorway between junctions 28 and 30 is linked to the same incident.
Tebay services in Cumbria have also been cordoned off 'for the forensic examination of a vehicle that is believed to have been involved'. In a statement, a Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At around 2.50am today, Saturday 7 March, police were called to reports of a serious collision on the M6 between junctions 21 and 21A.
"Officers in attendance at the scene found that a pedestrian had been struck by several vehicles. Sadly, the pedestrian was found dead at the scene.
"Road closures are in place between junctions 21-21A (Cheshire) and 28-30 (Lancashire) while emergency services work to clear the area.
A cordon is also in place at Tebay services in Cumbria to allow for the forensic examination of a vehicle that is believed to have been involved.
