Latest on fatal pedestrian collision on A44 in Chadbury

West Mercia Police has confirmed that the investigation into the death of a pedestrian in her 70s in Chadbury is on-going. The woman was killed on December 22 following a collision with a van.ongoing A 54-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving but has since been released under investigation.
Providing an update today (March 25), a West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "The woman has been released under investigation as enquiries continue." Sergeant Emma Breay from the operational policing unit said: "Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and loved ones of the woman who sadly passed away. They are being supported by specialised trained officers at this difficult time.
"An arrest was made at the scene, and that person is assisting with our enquiries. "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, may have dashcam footage of the incident, or saw a woman walking along the road prior to the incident." The road was closed for a number of hours following the incident at around 7.40am.
Speaking at the time, a West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian died following a collision on the A44 at Chadbury on Monday (22 December). "Officers responded to the report of a collision involving a white van on the junction of Chadbury Road around 7.40am. "Sadly, a pedestrian - a woman in her 70s - was struck by the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
"A 54-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
"Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for witnesses."
