M25 three lorries crash leaves one person in hospital

The collision happened at around 3am between junction 27 for the M11 and junction 28 for Brentwood in Essex. The M25 remains shut clockwise between junction 27 and junction 28[1] following a large diesel spillage across three lanes of the carriageway. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called just after 3am on Wednesday 18 March to a road traffic collision on the M25 at Brentwood.

"One ambulance and one paramedic car were sent to the scene. One patient was transported to Queens Hospital for further assessment and treatment." The update from ambulance comes after the fire service revealed a person was trapped in the cab of a lorry before getting rescued[2].

The road is likely to remain closed throughout the day as vehicle recovery and resurfacing work takes place.

Motorists are advised by National Highways to allow extra journey time and plan ahead.

Emergency services, including Essex Police and fire crews, remain at the scene, besides, National Highways traffic officers who are managing the closure and diversion routes.
