M53 by Ellesmere Port blocked this morning after crash

Traffic monitoring service Inrix reports that the M53 incident has happened southbound between the Hooton and Overpool junctions. Where the incident has occurred (Image: Google Maps) The carriageway is reportedly "partially blocked" and there is heavy congestion in the area.

Inrix reports: "M53 Southbound partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident from J6 (Hooton) to J7 B5132 Netherpool Road (Overpool)." A crash has also reportedly occurred on the M56 westbound off-slip at the Helsby junction. The incident reportedly involves a HGV and the slip road is closed.
