Man dies after A46 crash near Lincoln involving cars and lorry carrying cows

Police have urged people not to speculate about the incident, which happened at Skellingthorpe roundabout

A man has died following a serious collision on the A46[1] near Lincoln.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash shortly after 10am on Thursday, March 26, at Skellingthorpe roundabout on the A46 Lincoln[2] Bypass.

The vehicles involved included a Volvo HGV carrying cows, a grey Honda Jazz and a white Ford Mondeo.

Lincolnshire Police[3] confirmed around 2.30pm that a man had died at the scene and his family has been informed.

Sergeant Adam Doona, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This is a tragic incident and my condolences go to the family and friends of the man who has died.

"We have a lot of work to do at the scene, with a full scene examination to ensure all and any evidence is secured and preserved.

"The HGV was transporting a number of cows, and we have specialists dealing with these animals."

He continued: "It is my personal ask that speculation is avoided.

"This can be distressing for family and those sadly affected; it can also disrupt our investigation."

Lincolnshire Police is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact the force if they have not already done so by calling 01522212316 or emailing [email protected], quoting incident 93 of March 26, 2026.
