Man dies after van is smashed into parked car in horror crash

A man has died after a van was smashed into a park car in a horror crash. Emergency services including police and paramedics were called to the incident on Penketh Road in Great Sankey, Warrington, on Saturday (March 14).
It was reported that a silver Ford Transit van had struck a stationary Audi A3 that was unoccupied at the time of the crash. The driver of the van, an 88-year-old man, was pronounced dead at scene, Cheshire Constabulary said.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, with investigations into the crash continuing. Anyone with information or footage of the incident at 4.20pm is being asked to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Amy Hollis, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "Enquiries are currently ongoing, and we are now looking to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened.
"The same goes for anyone who may have any dashcam footage which could help our investigation.
