Three-vehicle crash closed A167 Northallerton Road

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the crash on the A167 Northallerton Road near Great Smeaton, around 11.40am today (Friday, March 13). The road was blocked in both directions causing long tailbacks. Pictures show 999 crews at the scene crash involving three cars.

The damaged Peugeot on the back of a recovery truck (Image: THE NORTHERN ECHO) A County Durham Fire and Rescue Spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.40am today (March 13) to a three-vehicle road traffic collision on Northallerton Road, Great Smeaton.

Recommended Reading: "One fire engine from Darlington Fire Station attended, along with colleagues from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. "Crews left the scene at 12.37pm."

The road reopened around 1.15pm.

North Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
