Truck recovered in County Durham crash which left two in hospital

A truck has been recovered after a crash in County Durham which left two in hospital. Pictures show a truck which appears to have come off the road being attached to a tow truck, with police still on the scene.
The A181 was closed in both directions[1] between Wheatley Hill Service Station and Salters Lane at Wingate since shortly before 11am this morning. The road has reopened, but police have urged motorists to avoid the route.

In a post on Facebook issued earlier, Durham Constabulary[3] said: "The road is closed between Wheatley Hill Service Station and the Salters Lane junction at Wingate (both directions) owing to a collision whilst emergency services deal with the incident.
Please avoid the route - an update will ensue once the scene is cleared and road is reopened."
