Two taken to hospital after M62 crash which caused delays

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4pm yesterday (Wednesday) to report of crash on the M62 westbound between Junctions 24 (Ainley Top) and 25 (Chain Bar). One witness said a Hyundai in the "spun" in the centre lane, a van sustained to the driver's side rear of the vehicle and lorry involved in the crash appeared to be undamged. A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We received an emergency call at 4pm on Wednesday afternoon (March 4) to report a collision between junctions 25 and 24 on the M62 westbound.

"Two ambulances and a team leader were dispatched to the scene and two patients were conveyed to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary." The witness said it took about 30 minutes post-crash for the scene to be cleared. There were severe delays on the M62 after three lanes were closed.
