Willenhall crash sees van on roof as three taken to hospital

Police, firefighters and medics were at the scene on Saturday

Three people were taken to hospital after a crash in Willenhall over the weekend.

A van ended up on its roof after a collision with a car on Lichfield[1] Road.

Police, firefighters and medics were all at the scene at around 11am on Saturday, March 14.

The driver and passenger of the van, along with the driver of the car were taken to hospital, however 'no one sustained serious injuries'.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "Shortly before 11.05am on Saturday we responded to Lichfield Road, near the roundabout connecting Essington Road and Cannock[3] Road.

"A crew from Fallings Park attended, arriving to find a van and car had come into collision.

"Two people freed themselves from the van and one from the car.

"All three are believed to have been conveyed to hospital for precautionary checks.

"Vehicle recovery was organised by police colleagues, and we left the scene at 11.23am."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service[4] spokesperson added: "An ambulance en route to another 999 call came across a road traffic collision at the junction of the A4124 and A452, Willenhall, at 11.11am on Saturday.

"The driver and passenger of a van involved were assessed and conveyed to hospital as a precaution.

"The driver of a car involved also received assessment and was taken to hospital for further checks.

"No one sustained serious injuries in the collision."
