A Volkswagen Golf crashed into a lampost with a woman left with serious injuries and the driver arrested on suspicion of drink-driving

A drink-drive suspect has been arrested after a car crashed in Midland village leaving a passenger with possible life-changing injuries.
The crash took place on the Eccleshall Road (A519) in Woodseaves on Friday, March 13.
A grey Volkswagen Golf crashed into a lamppost.
West Midlands Ambulance Service[2], National Highways and Western Power were called to the scene along with Staffordshire[3] Police officers.
The ambulance service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a van at the junction of Black Lane and the A419, Woodseaves, Stafford at 9.27pm on Friday 13th March.
"An ambulance, paramedic officer and a critical care car from Midlands Air Ambulance responded.
"Crews arrived to find a car and a van which had collided leaving the car in a hedge at the side of the road.
"The passenger, a woman, sustained serious injuries and was extricated with help from fire colleagues before she received trauma care from ambulance staff.
"Once stabilised, she was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
The driver, a man, was also conveyed to the same hospital for precautionary checks."

The woman was said to have suffered a potentially life-changing leg injury.
She remained in hospital as of Tuesday (March 17).
A 27-year-old man from the Stafford area was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and for drink driving.
Now Staffordshire Police is appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

A spokesperson for the Staffordshire force said: "A man has been arrested following a serious-injury collision near Stafford.
"At around 9.30pm on Friday (13 March), we were called to a single-vehicle collision on Eccleshall Road in Woodseaves.
"Officers attended and a grey Volkswagen Golf was found in collision with a lamppost.
"A 27-year-old man, from the Stafford area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit.
"He has been released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.
Article continues below"Specialist investigators are asking witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam, or CCTV footage, of a grey Volkswagen Golf travelling along the A519 from Newport to Woodseaves in the time leading up to the collision at around 9.25pm.
