A417: Man dies in crash on key Gloucestershire A road

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after the crash, which happened near Maisemore on the afternoon of Thursday, April 16. Emergency services were called at around 3.50pm with a report of a collision involving a motorbike and a Ford Transit van on the A417 near Overton Farm. The motorcyclist, a man from Gloucester, sustained serious injuries.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics and members of the public, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Gloucestershire Constabulary said the man's next of kin has been informed and they are being supported by specially-trained officers. The driver of the van was assessed by paramedics. They did not sustain any serious injuries. Road closures were put into place while a collision investigation took place.

These have since been lifted.
