Appeal following fatal crash on A199 near Dunbar
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A199 near Dunbar. Around 2.35pm on Wednesday, 1 April, police were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A199 near the Tynefield junction, involving a red Ford Fiesta and a blue Mercedes lorry. Emergency services attended and the driver of the Fiesta, a 62-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was injured. The road was closed to allow for crash investigation work to be carried out and reopened around 9.15pm. Sergeant Mike Thomson said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this difficult time.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and I would ask anyone who witnessed what happened, or who was travelling in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage, to contact us.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1748 of 1 April, 2026."
