Drink drive arrest after A46 crash left young woman with serious injuries
The major road was closed for over 12 hours

A woman remains in hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A46, where a man was arrested.
Gloucestershire Constabulary were called to a two-vehicle crash at around 4.40pm on Monday, April 13 near Brockworth.[1][2]
The crash involved a white Fiat Doblo Cargo and a yellow Vauxhall Corsa on Painswick Road.
A woman in her 20s, the driver of the Corsa, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where she remains with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening at this time.
The Fiat van driver was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and causing serious injury by dangerous driving, said the force.
The man was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital,[3] where his injuries were assessed, and then released into police custody.
Police say he has been released under investigation while officers continue their enquiries.
Road closures were put in place and lifted in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
The vehicles involved were recovered.
