Drink-driver who went spinning on Tamworth’s A5 told police ‘don’t disrespect me’

A drink-driver who crashed on a busy West Midlands dual carriageway after carrying out a 'highly dangerous manoeuvre' has escaped jail.

Ethan Gayle, who was driving a black Peugeot 208, undertook a car at 'high speed' before crashing into the back of a lorry and spinning out of control along the A5 in Tamworth[1], Staffordshire[2].

An eyewitness claimed the 22-year-old was driving so fast his vehicle was 'juddering' before the collision occurred near Ventura Retail Park at around 9pm on July 4 last year. Advertisement Advertisement
