Driver rushed to hospital after lorry and car are mangled in crash

A driver has been rushed to hospital following a crash between a lorry and a car on a busy A-route.

The incident occurred at around 3pm on Friday, April 17 on the A419 northbound just before the Wanborough junction, according to police.

At around 5pm, the force confirmed that a driver of a vehicle involved in the crash was taken to hospital, adding that the vehicles were soon moved out of the carriageway. Advertisement Advertisement

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "We attended a collision on the A419 northbound just prior to the Wanborough junction, following a collision just before 3pm involving a car and lorry.

"One driver taken to hospital.

Vehicles have been moved out of the carriageway."

The South Western Ambulance Service Foundation Trust was contacted for comment on the incident.

The crash saw queues form along the affected stretch, with traffic maps indicating that congestion persisted following the incident.
