Emergency services rush to A127 after crash near popular garden centre

Emergency services have rushed to a major Essex road following reports of a crash near a popular garden centre. Police, fire and ambulance have all been reportedly spotted on the A127 near the Alton Garden Centre.

The popular business is understood to be open and operating as usual. There is no impact on access to and from the car park and the store.

EssexLive understands the lorry left the carriageway and collided with vegetation.

A spokesperson for ECFRS said: "We were called to the London-bound A127 today at 11.19am after a large goods vehicle had crashed into a ditch.

Crews from Rayleigh Weir, Grays and Basildon attended and rescued a man, who was conscious and breathing by 11.43am."

East of England Ambulance Service Trust has been approached for a comment.
