Four people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision that closed the A55 near Chester.
- The crash occurred on the eastbound carriageway between the Broughton junction and the Posthouse roundabout. Police shut the eastbound road shortly before 9am on Thursday, with fire crews and paramedics also dispatched to the scene.
- Three vehicles were involved in the collision. The road remained closed until after 11am, leaving some drivers stranded in queues for over two hours, reports North Wales Live[3].
- A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 8.40am on Thursday 16 April, police were called to a collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A55 between Broughton and the Posthouse roundabout.
Officers attended and found there had been a collision between three vehicles, a Renault van, a Seat Ateca and a BMW.
- The force said there were no reports of any serious injuries as a result of the collision, but four people were treated for minor injuries.
- A single fire engine from Chester was deployed to the scene. A Cheshire Fire Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision involving two cars and one van in Chester. All persons involved had safely gotten out of the vehicles before firefighters' arrival.
There were no signs of fire, and firefighters made the vehicles safe."
