Inquest opens after 28-year-old man dies in A46 collision near Lincoln

An inquest has opened after a 28-year-old man died following a collision on the A46.[1]
The emergency services were called to Skellingthorpe Roundabout near Lincoln shortly after 10am on Thursday, March 26.
Three vehicles were involved in the incident, including a Volvo HGV carrying cows, a grey Honda Jazz and a white Ford Mondeo.
Lincolnshire Police[2] confirmed around 2.30pm that a man had died at the scene and his family had been informed.
The body was formally identified as Cory Williamson, of Lincoln[3], on the day of the incident by PC Smith.
Article continues belowAn inquest was opened into his death on Monday, April 20 by Coroner Jayne Wilkes.
It was heard that a post-mortem examination took place on Wednesday, April 1 by Dr Michael Biggs and a medical cause of death had been provided as 'crush asphyxia'.
The inquest was then suspended due to a criminal prosecution commencing in relation to an offence linked to the incident.
