M5 police catch lorry in fast lane
The driver was placed in handcuffs by West Midlands Police following the incident along the M5 in Birmingham

Police were left gobsmacked after catching a lorry driving in the fast lane of the M5.
Police officers caught the heavy goods vehicle travelling along the stretch of motorway in Birmingham[1].
The vehicle, a white-coloured Scania, was subsequently pulled over by officers.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered the driver was wanted for a 'serious offence' in another police force area.
West Midlands Police[4] (WMP) said the driver was reported and then arrested as a result of the incident.
The HGV had been spotted following ANPR interceptors who were out on patrol along the motorway.
The incident was shared on social media by WMP[5] Traffic.
The account run by WMP[6] said: "D-Unit #WMPANPRInterceptors were on patrol along the M5 in Birmingham, when they saw this HGV being driven in lane 3.
"A quick stop and check of the driver showed that he was wanted for a serious offence in another Force area.
