M6 live updates as ‘all emergency services’ at crash on shut North Staffordshire motorway

West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed one casualty has been taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. A spokesman said: "We were called to reports of an RTC involving a van and a lorry on the northbound M6, between junctions 14 and 15.
"One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man.
"He was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital by land ambulance.
The aircrew travelled with the patient on the back of the ambulance to help continue treatment enroute to hospital."
