M6 passenger suffers life-threatening injuries after crash
Cumbria Police officers are investigating the two-vehicle crash, which happened near junction 41 and involved a HGV and a Seat Tarraco at about 1.12pm today (Tuesday, April 7). The rear seat occupant of the Seat was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police have confirmed. The driver of the Seat was uninjured, while two other occupants sustained minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is urged to contact police via the report-it section of the Cumbria Police website, quoting incident 99 of 7 April 2026.
