Man dies in hospital month after South West main road crash

A motorist has tragically lost his life following a collision on the A30 in Devon a month ago. The incident occurred in a lay-by on the A30 westbound carriageway at Fenny Bridges, close to Honiton, when emergency services were called at approximately 10pm on Tuesday, March 10. According to Devon and Cornwall Police, a Vauxhall van struck a stationary HGV that was parked in the lay-by.

The driver of the van, a man aged in his 20s from Hampshire, sustained multiple serious injuries in the impact and was rushed to hospital for treatment. He did not recover and has since died in hospital, reports Devon Live[1]. Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward with information about the incident.

In a statement released this morning, a Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson confirmed: "A man has passed away following a collision on the A30 near Honiton last month. "We were called at around 10pm on Tuesday 10 March to reports of a collision in a lay-by on the A30 Westbound at Fenny Bridges. "It was reported that a Vauxhall van had collided with a parked HGV.

The driver of the van, a man in his 20s from Hampshire, was taken to hospital with multiple serious injuries. "Sadly, he has since died at hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the collision." The force added: "We are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the incident.
