Man in hospital after lorry overturns on A4 roundabout

The incident, which took place on Thursday morning, April 23, saw a lorry overturn on the A4 at Bathford Road roundabout at around 9.30am. Buses were diverted via Kingsdown and the road closed as the overturned lorry blocked the roundabout. Emergency services were called to the scene.

At the time of writing, seven hours after the crash, rubble remains on the Bathford Road roundabout and diesel has leaked across the highway. Drivers are still being urged to avoid the area as police officers from Avon and Somerset work with the local authority to clear the road. A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to a single-vehicle collision involving a truck carrying a skip which overturned on the A4 Bathford Road roundabout, which adjoins the A363 and A46, near Bath, at around 9.30am today (Thursday 23 April).

"A man has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be serious."
